Creativity

Creating and making work is always an enjoyable daily event, the apparent difficulties are the narratives of the subject matter, how it matches or marry with the created object, in the process to be accepted as a work of art.

In the journey of creating and making, ideas and intentions are noted, but major discoveries along the way, force changes, nothing is fixed and permanent.

When presenting the work to public audiences, the narratives of the curator, interpreter and translator of the art subject, juxtaposed by the art object on display, are vitally important. This curator assist audiences to understand, and receive fully the wide spectrum of what the work has to offer.

Photo Arts

I have a tendency to break all the rules, in the working discipline of the art medium. I mix and match freely and constantly. To me, working with the ideas of cross-fertilisation, is quite natural to do so.

Many professional experts in their specific, respective fields are not sure where to begin, when confronted with the work. Photographs have the immediate appearance of a painting. The questions asked, how and why, seems to hold a sense of reductive defeat.  Thinking, where to begin, and how to proceed create barriers. I hope what I am thinking, is not correct.

Mythology

Diana & Actaeon – Ovid’s Ancient Mythology.

A major foundation in the systems of European beliefs are Archetypes – fixed ancient patterns of human behaviour that are genetically inherited.

These personas are fixed original ancient prototypes in the psyche, soul and energies of individuals in the nation as a whole.

The specific characteristics of the archetypes are retained throughout all epochs and eras to the modern times.

Myths enter the cultural framework, when events of gigantic proportions and importance register in the psyche of a nation. Resonating with individuals seeking identity and a need to belong, events so old and out of time, translated through mythology, they remain alive in the psyche, mind and collective unconscious of the nation, in the form of a national identity.

Mind Games

With that ancient belief system intact, living in the modern times becomes challenging, when a person make attempts to gain knowledge of self, and evolve as a unique individual.

If Any attempts to personally evolve are to be achieved. The lessons I have learnt from that particular pattern of thoughts in Euro-culture.

Yes, there is a need to break free from the recurring cycle of archetypes and psychic mythological frameworks.

A female artist friend explained, that she went through the experiences of transmogrification –  a method of renewal through a process she described as spiritual death and  rebirth.

The experiences she mentioned relate closely to Lacanian philosophies, especially about the female orifices and subtle openings that split, giving free access to the true persona and character of the individual. Allowing a variety of forces and energies to enter the psyche, soul and mind of the person. These conscious energies experience the life of the individual, as if the actual living body of the individual person, is their own.

The Lacanian theories also examine the manner in which a person becomes alienated from their true-self, through fears, stress, high anxieties, symbols, signs, signifiers, subtle subliminal suggestions, flowing into the fertile fields of mind, ideas, feelings, and imagination unawares.
