NEW MEDIA ART

Photography began as science, chemistry, and mathematics. Continuing with new technology, ideas, and perceptions.

The art and craft of the practice are embraced by billions of people all over the world.

New Media Art and Imagery, are created in line with the vision of the artist, utilising a variety and interplay of different medium. Incorporating photographic images as the base for creative expression.

Regardless of the method, material, equipment, software, and technique that are used, New Media images can be ‘Creative Fine Art,’ imaginative, beautiful, and intellectual. With aesthetic content that express important ideas or feelings, that represents the vision of the artist.

Take A Look!

A self-taught visual artist, born in Burkino Faso, Saidou Dicko, began his extensive focus on photography in 2005. His first exhibition in 2006, was a series of images making use of photography, painting, video, and digital overlays. Dicko transforms the ordinary into something original and spectacular.

In 2012, he co-founded the collective ‘Rendez – Vous Artists’ a platform where curators, artists, gallerists, cultural journalists, share thoughts and ideas on contemporary creative activities.

Saidou work and progress continues to grow and evolve, thanks to his visits to various countries around the world. His new series ‘The Shadowed People’ are beautiful reflections of his interest in the social, cultural, and political realities of people in Africa.

The work is exciting graphic imagery, filled with photography, digital overlays, and artistic integrity. There is also a sense of growth and maturity. The sign and symbol of the ‘Red Cross’ within the images, offers clues to the viewer on the overall meanings and intent.
