Digital Imagery

PHOTOGRAPHY

Through a Smartphone and New Digital Technology, we all participate in the production and consumption of photographic images. Millions of images are circulated daily, around the world.

In this familiarity with a visual language, we rarely consider the message or intention of the person behind the camera.

Possibly, neither the person taking the photograph, with the aim and click manner, in which photographs are made by the general public.

Photography is now the most accessible of visual image making. It offers instant gratification, easy of use, affordable, and full control over the results. Allowing you to change, and manipulate images as you see fit. This popular pastime, must not be confused with the practice of Fine Art Photography!

In a light-room, computer software simulate the same techniques, and working methods used in a traditional darkroom.

The new thing is, the working language. We use words like pixels, thumbnails, Rams, resolution, compression, memory card, files, downloads, uploads, batteries, png, jpeg, tiff, RGB, Png, ISP, and www.

Keep in mind, the processes. The image on screen easily deleted, not yet real. Is an Artificial Digital Soft-Copy. The image become real, after it is printed – as a solid Hard-Copy.

Historical

From the beginning of the 1800s – 19th century, there were many inventors involved with development, and advancement of the photographic process. Photography began as Science, Chemistry and Maths.

By placing an object on sensitised paper, and exposing the paper to sunlight, we are able to create photographic images. Chemicals were used to fix the image on paper.

Danijah Photo-Art

Making work with a combination of principles, from the basic techniques of art – line, colour, shape, form, etc. The invention and beginning of photography – drawing and painting with light. Presenting images through digital technology, without any form of manipulation.

Currently, the focus in my practice is the interactions, and experiences with the living energies in nature. We are magnetised by theses energies on many levels. Connecting us to our origin, each other, and with all things in nature. These energies effect our psyche, physiological, psychological, mental, emotional, and spiritual state of being.

Contemporary living is so complex and confusing, it is similar to placing together thousands of small pieces in a puzzle, in order to see the bigger picture. Then the task begin, making sense of it all.

On one level, photographs are utilised to secure, and preserve our collective memories. In my creative practice, photographs are a means to express personal vision and ideas. All the Photo-Works shown above, are examples of new completed projects.
